Jane Stickle Quilt: LS-13

Jane Stickle block LS-13Block number/name: LS-13 “Watermelon”

Date completed: May 10, 2010

Number of pieces: 22

Notes on block: My first bit of sewing since Flynn was born two weeks ago! It felt nice to do some stitching again. Yesterday was Mother’s Day, and the boys gave me a gift certificate to Keepsake Cottage Fabrics. I think I may use it to invest in a new Clover mini-iron. Mine has bit the dust. I was lucky not to scorch my fingers when trying to prep these melons with the big iron!

Mother's Day 2010My older son also made me a super Mother’s Day gift at preschool. The picture is from a field trip we took in January to the Redmond Fire Department. And he painted the little heart! (Since he rarely goes into the art room at preschool, this is quite a special thing!)

The little one continues to eat like a champ (and is even starting to do some sleeping at night now!). He’s a beautiful little boy, and I’m so grateful that he has become part of our family. We are so blessed to have two wonderful boys!

  1. I am partial to boys myself but I really thought you were going to have a girl. LOL! You are truly blessed!

Block looks great, good to see you back at it.

  2. WHOO HOO!! Look how fast you're back in the crafty saddle! :-) You, my dear, are still amazing even after baby #2 . . .

  3. I was thinking about you! Glad all is well.

  4. Glad to hear all's going well :)

  5. Yay! It's great to see you back, Robin! This must have been a wonderful Mother's Day for you.

It's great to hear the new baby is learning the wonderful art of sleeping!

  6. I am so happy to hear that the little one and you doing well! Your gift is very cute :)

  7. Lovely block!
I'm glad you're back and the boys are all healthy and happy.

  8. Glad all is well! You may want to check out the new dritz iron at I tried it after burning out my last iron. Love it.

  9. What a great mother's day gift and I'm glad to hear that things are going so well with the new baby! How is your older one adjusting?
